Behind every successful golf pro is, well, someone with the means to help him or her negotiate the expensive journey to success. Shannon Tan has had her share of well-intentioned supporters, but none so significant as Albert Chiu of EFG. Chiu, a private banker from Hong Kong, believes in helping aspiring youth athletes, and has backed Tan from an early stage. Last month, Tan became the first Singaporean to finish top-ten in a golf major with her tied-sixth finish at the British Women's Open at Royal Birkdale. With EFG's continued financial backing, we can all look forward to brighter years ahead for young Shannon.
